Celebrate Mother’s Day at Great Southern Restaurants

Join us on Sunday, May 9th, for Mother’s Day at Great Southern Restaurants! All of our restaurants will be open, each restaurant will offer their standard menus, as well as special features created by Chef de Cuisine John Huggins, Executive Chef Irv Miller, Executive Chef Billy Ballou and Executive Chef James Briscione. As we continue to maintain our strict standards of service, please note seating will be limited. Reservations are required at each restaurant.Hours and special features for each restaurant are as follows:

 

 

The Fish House

The Fish House will be open and serving Mother’s Day brunch on Sunday, May 9, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. with dinner service available beginning at 3:00 p.m.

 

We will be serving from our standard brunch menu, which features a selection of starters, salads, seafood and sandwiches as well as our Classic Eggs Benedict, world-famous Grits à Ya Ya, Cinnamon Toast Crunch French Toast, and our crispy fried Chicken Biscuit. As always, we will be offering Bloody Marys for $2.

 

In addition, Chef de Cuisine John Huggins has created a special Mother’s Day feature that will be available for brunch: Trout Almondine with pan sautéed rainbow trout, topped toasted almonds and lump crabmeat. Served with asparagus, lemon and meunière sauce.

 

For dinner, we will offer our standard dinner menu, which features a wide variety of fish selections, platters and samplers, steaks and of course, our world-famous Grits à Ya Ya — our signature dish featuring spiced Gulf jumbo shrimp atop a sauté of spinach, portobello mushrooms, applewood-smoked bacon, garlic, shallots, and cream over a heaping bed of smoked Gouda cheese grits.

Jackson’s Steakhouse

Jackson’s will be serving Mother’s Day Brunch as well as Mother’s Day Dinner on Sunday, May 9th. Brunch hours are from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with dinner service at 5:00 p.m.

 

For brunch, we will be serving from our standard menu, which features a selection of starters, salads, omelets, sandwiches and brunch plates including Deep Dish Quiche Lorraine, Gulf Coast Seafood Omelet, Steak and Eggs, Shrimp and Avocado Stacked Salad, Bananas Foster Waffle, and Sliced Smoked Nova Salmon. As always, we will be offering bottomless Piper Sonoma for $10. In addition, Chef Irv Miller has created an Easter brunch feature: Prime Rib Eggs Benedict with English muffin, thin prime rib slices, soft poached eggs, hollandaise, pecan-wood smoked bacon- wrapped fingerling potatoes, and yellow squash gratin.

 

For dinner, we will be serving from our standard dinner menu featuring a selection of soups, salads and starters as well as local fish, steaks, chops and lobster. In addition, our extensive award-winning wine list will be available. Chef Miller will also be offering a special Mother’s Day dinner feature: Hickory-fired Yellow Edge Grouper with berbere spice-rubbed, smoked poblano chile sauce, lime crema, salsa cruda, house-smoked cotija, and tortilla frites.

Five Sisters Blues Café

Five Sisters Blues Café will be open for our traditional Sunday Jazz Brunch on Mother’s Day Sunday, May 9, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

 

We will be serving from our standard brunch menu, which features a selection of starters, salads, entrées, seafood and sandwiches as well as brunch favorites: The Sisters’ Benedict, Chicken and Waffles, Smothered Chicken Biscuit, and Belgian Waffles. As always, we will have live jazz performances throughout brunch service and offer our signature Bloody Mary: vodka, Louisiana hot sauce, pickled okra, Worcestershire sauce, olive juice and black pepper — topped with a fried chicken wing!

 

In addition to our brunch menu, Five Sisters will offer a special Easter feature that will be available throughout the day:three-cheese potato quiche topped with smoked salmon, cucumber dill crème fraîche and Creole hollandaise.

Join us at Angelena’s for Mother’s Day! We will be open and serving Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday, May 9, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

 

For brunch we will be serving from our standard menu featuring a selection of salads and starters as well as house-made pasta, pizzas, local seafood, and much more. In addition, our extensive Italian wine list will be available. In addition to the standard dinner menu, Chef Briscione will offer a special Mother’s Day feature, Gemelli alla Genovese: House made pasta, Gulf shrimp, and basil pesto.

Mother’s Day Grab and Go from Great Southern Restaurants: Featuring Five Sisters Blues Café

Great Southern Restaurants will be offering a Mother’s Day Grab and Go package featuring Five Sisters Blues Café. The package is $65 plus tax and is based on six people. Additional orders available in increments of six.

 

You can place your orders now and schedule pickup, by contacting catering and events line, at 850-433-9450 or email kady@fivesistersbluescafe.com or melissa@goodgrits.com. Orders can be placed until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5. Pickups will be available at the Fish House on Saturday, May 8, 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The meal will be fully cooked and will include reheating directions.
