“Celebrating a Historic California Winery”
Another wine and food event presented by Aragon Wine Market and Jackson’s Steakhouse

Jackson’s Steakhouse is proud to partner once again with local wine merchant, Aragon Wine Market, to present a wine and food tasting, “Celebrating a Historic Winery,” on Wednesday, May 28, 5:30 p.m., at Jackson’s Steakhouse.

The Boisset Collection, which encompasses Buena Vista Winery, the oldest premium winery in California serving as the inspiration for the tasting, Charlotte Gordon of Aragon Wines has hand selected four stellar wines for the event. Known as “California’s First Premium Winery,” the Buena Vista Winery was established in Sonoma County, California, in 1857. Chef Irv Miller has created a five-course menu focusing on local ingredients to complement Gordon’s wine selections.

The featured presentation for the evening is as follows:

To Start: Gulf coast cruda trio with orange-sherry vinaigrette and grape seed oil-popped corn dusted with chili spice and sea salt paired with JCB 21 Sparkling Wine, Cote d’Or, Burgundy, France, NV

Second Pairing: Grits arancino with shrimp and country gravy paired with Buena Visa Chardonnay, Carneros Valley, Sonoma County, California, 2009

Third Pairing: Andouille-stuffed roasted quail, field greens and spoon bread paired with Buena Vista Pinot Noir, Carneros Valley, Sonoma County, California, 2011

Fourth Pairing: Bordeaux-braised pork cheeks with baby carrots, spring onions, garlic-roasted fingerling potatoes and chicharron paired with Buena Vista “The Legendary Badge” red blend, Sonoma County, California, 2012

To Finish: Strawberry shortcake bombe

The event cost is $75 per person plus tax and gratuity and will include four wines and five courses. Seating is limited; reservations required. Be sure to make yours by calling Jackson’s Steakhouse, (850) 469-9898.
