Join us at Jackson’s Steakhouse on Thursday, October 23, for our latest installment of “Jazz at Jackson’s.”
Back by demand, the featured performers for the evening are popular vocalist Ellen Vinson accompanied by noted pianist Jack Zoesch. Together they will present a program featuring tunes from Broadway as well as “The Great American Songbook.” Selections will also include iconic arrangements recorded by Nat King and Natalie Cole.
Ellen Vinson has loved singing jazz as long as she can remember. Although she graduated with a major in elementary education, she began college as a music major, singing jingles for radio and television in Tallahassee. Additionally, Ellen taught elementary school for over 30 years. She looks forward to sharing her interpretation of jazz classics, songs that tell a story, and never go out of style. Over the last decade, she has enjoyed participating in our annual “Jazz at Jackson’s” as well as events benefitting numerous nonprofit organizations.
Jack Zoesch is an attorney by day (and sometimes night) who plays as much music as he can. A native of Rochester, NY, he has a wide variety of experience in both the jazz and classical realms, having played piano since age 5 and horn since age 9. As a jazz pianist, he has performed with Wynton Marsalis, Ted Poor, Michael League, Steve Gilmore, and Ike Sturm, among others. During his time in Washington, DC, he performed at venues such as Twins Jazz, Bohemian Caverns, the Watergate Hotel, and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Since moving to Pensacola in 2007, Jack has headlined at Jazz Pensacola events including JazzFest and Jazz Gumbo, and has performed at a variety of establishments around town. Jack is a member of the Palafox Jazz Orchestra, a group comprised of members of the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, which performs jazz standards arranged for strings and jazz quartet.
There will be two seatings for this event: 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. In addition to our full dinner menu, which will be available for the evening, Chef Miller has prepared a special entrée feature: 16-ounce Prime New York Strip, Madeira demi-glace, duck fat confit fingerling potatoes and grilled asparagus.
This is a limited-seating event. To reserve your table, please call Jackson’s Steakhouse, 850-469-9898.
