“Vive la France” A Wine and Food Event Presented by Jackson’s Steakhouse

Design

In anticipation for the upcoming celebration, Jackson’s Steakhouse is proud to present the 14th annual wine and food tasting, “Vive la France,” on Thursday, July 13, at 5:30 p.m.

Bastille Day is the French national holiday, la Fête du 14 juillet. It commemorates the storming of the Bastille prison in 1789, an act that led to the conclusion of the French Revolution and the beginning of French independence.

With Bastille Day serving as the inspiration for the tasting, our own Jean Pierre N’Dione has hand selected four stellar French wines to complement a selection of classic French dishes as

prepared by Chef Irv Miller. The featured presentation for the evening is as follows:

Premier:

Cream-style soup with roasted mushroom broth, wild mushrooms and dry sherry sauté, fresh chives paired with Saint-Hilaire Blanquette de Limoux Brut, Languedoc-Roussillon, France NV

Deuxième:

Greens salad, golden delicious apples, Roquefort, smoky bacon lardons, French white wine vinaigrette toasted crouton paired with Chateau de Parenchere Bordeaux Blanc Sec, Bordeaux, France 2021

Troisième:

Black truffle spice-seared U-10 Sea scallop, heirloom tomato sauce, rainbow paired with Domaine Dupeuble Beaujolais Nouveau, Burgundy, France 2022

Quatrième:

Tournedos, foie gras butter, Vidalia onion and summer squash gratin, garlic thyme fondant potato, Glace de Viande paired with Famille Perrin Côtes du Rhône Réserve, Rhône Valley, France NV

Cinquième:

Peach clafouti, spearmint and lemon simple syrup, Chantilly cream, macerated strawberries

The event cost is $75 per person (plus tax and gratuity) and will include four wines and five courses. Seating is limited; reservations required. Be sure to make yours by calling Jackson’s Steakhouse, 850-469-9898 or visiting our website, jacksonsrestaurant.com
