Carnevale Dinner Featuring Guest Chef Laura Piovesana and Angelena’s Executive Chef James Briscione
Angelena’s is pleased to offer a special dinner celebrating Venetian Carnival. The dinner will be held in the main dining room on Thursday, February 16th at 6:00 p.m.
Venetian Carnival is a time of decadence— a celebration of pleasure and abundance before Lent season. In true Italian style, we will showcase Carnival cuisine at its bold and full-flavored best. Our special guest chef will be Laura Piovesana, founder of “The Italian Wooden Spoon.” Laura was born and raised in the the Veneto region of Italy and is an accomplished private chef. She and Chef James Briscione have worked closely together to prepare a menu that celebrates iconic dishes from Venice and the surrounding region, including the Carnival staple, “fritelle” (Venetian beignets). Menu is as follows:
Selection of Venetian Cicchetti
Squid Ink Risotto
Butter-poached Gulf shrimp, calamari and scallops
Beef Cheek Veronese
Valpolicella braise, creamy polenta
Assortment of ‘Dolci Fritti’ (traditional, fried sweet Carnevale confections)
Crostole, Fritelle, Castagnole
Pairings of Veneto Prosecco and red wines as selected by Ray Jones and Wine Director Brooke Parkhurst.
Price for the dinner is $175 plus tax and gratuity per person, . Seating for the Venetian Carnival dinner is limited, reservations are required and can be made by visiting our website Angelenaspensacola.com or calling 850-542-8398.
