Bastille Day is the French national holiday, la Fête du 14 juillet. It commemorates the storming of the Bastille prison in 1789, an act that led to the conclusion of the French Revolution and the beginning of French independence.
With Bastille Day serving as the inspiration for the tasting, our own Jean Pierre N’Dione has hand selected four stellar French wines to complement a selection of classic French dishes as
prepared by Chef Irv Miller. The featured presentation for the evening is as follows:
Premier:
Tarte Lorraine, pecan wood-smoked bacon and sweet onions, and baby heirloom tomatoes paired with Charles Bove Sparkling Vouvray NV
Deuxième:
Grilled Ratatouille Gratin Parmesan, aioli and pesto crumb paired with Salvard Cheverny Blanc 2018
Troisième:
Pear-Wood Smoked Pork Tenderloin, lavender beurre rouge, summer peas and mushrooms, and brie risotto paired with Basty Regnie (Cru Beaujolais) 2018
Quatrième:
Beef Tournedo, marchand de vin sauce, fresh thyme, potatoes dauphinoise paired with Brunier Le Pigeoulet Rouge 2019
Cinquième:
La Bon Vie Chante Crepe, berry compote, Crème Chantilly, toffee, fresh spearmint
