In celebration of Christmas Eve, Angelena’s will be open for lunch service 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. serving from our standard lunch menu. Additionally, dinner service will begin at 5:00 p.m. featuring our standard dinner menu along with a special celebratory “Feast of the Seven Fishes,” a fixed-price, five-course dinner.
The “Feast of the Seven Fishes” is an Italian tradition derived from the Roman Catholic custom of celebrating Christmas Eve as a vigil. The abundance of seafood reflects the observance of abstinence from meat until the feast of Christmas Day itself. This celebration is considered one of the most significant of Italian traditions. The family gathers to celebrate togetherness, Italy and the sea. With this in mind, Chef James Briscione has created a five-course dinner featuring seven fishes. The menu is as follows:
First Course
Baccala crostini featuring traditional salted cod with whipped potatoes and garlic
Second Course
Baked Gulf oysters casino-style with breadcrumbs, bell pepper, and pancetta
Third Course
Nana’s Caesar salad featuring an anchovy vinaigrette, Parmesan, Castelvetrano olives, and house-cured bottarga
Fourth Course
“Paccheri con Sugo di Mare” house-made pasta with marinara, lobster, shrimp, clam, and mussels
Fifth Course – Choice of
Limoncello Cheesecake or Tiramisu
Cost for the fixed-price, five-course dinner is $45 per person plus tax and gratuity. A recommended wine pairing will be available.
