Jackson’s Steakhouse is proud to partner with Breakthru Beverage Company to present a handcrafted tequila and food event at Jackson’s Steakhouse on Thursday, May 5, 5:30 p.m. in honor of Cinco de Mayo. The date is observed to commemorate the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.
The dinner will highlight a number of quality tequilas; Blue Agave, Agave and Añejo. Few beverages hold as much mystique as tequila. The beloved Mexican pick-me-up is surrounded by years of myths and legends.
Justin Williams and Billy Dunn of Breakthru Beverage will be in attendance to shed more light on the featured tequilas as well as the craft of distillation. Chef Irv Miller has created a delicious menu that underlines the flavors from the tequilas. The full menu is as follows:
To Start
Alligator Point oyster-on-the-half shell with ruby grapefruit mignonette dipping sauce paired with Maestro Dobel ‘Diamante’
Second Course
Mojo-roasted pulled pork tostado with chipotle aioli, jalapeño, black beans, Spanish rice paired with Milagro Single Barrel Reserve Añejo
Third Course
Beef cheeks chili rojo with butter beans, charred corn-off-the-cob, Texas 1015 sweet onions paired with Tequila Ocho Single Estate Reposado
Fourth Course
Braised oxtail with masa and goat cheese dumplings with local greens paired with Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia
To Finish
Banana beignets with cheese fudge gelato, guajillo, cinnamon & sugar, agave drizzle
