A wine and food event presented by Jackson’s Steakhouse“Vive la France”A wine and food event presented by Jackson’s Steakhouse
For the 10th year, Jackson’s Steakhouse is proud to once again present a wine and food tasting, “Vive la France,” on Sunday, July 14, at 5:30 p.m.
Bastille Day is the French national holiday, la Fête du 14 juillet. It commemorates the storming of the Bastille prison in 1789, an act that led to the conclusion of the French Revolution and the beginning of French independence.
With Bastille Day serving as the inspiration for the tasting, our own Jean Pierre N’Dione has hand selected four stellar French wines to complement a selection of classic French dishes as prepared by Chef Irv Miller. The featured presentation for the evening is as follows:
Premier:
Ratatouille tartine featuring crusty French bread, goat cheese spread, ratatouille relis, garlic, onions, bell pepper, zucchini, tomatoes, olive oil, fried eggplant, and crispy basil paired with
JCB by Jean Charles Boisset No 21 Brut Cremant de Bourgogne, France NV
Deuxième:
Smoky tomato soup with roasted garlic crouton, olive oil, herbs de Provence, crème fraiche paired with Chanson Pere & Fils Vire-Clesse, Maconnais, France
Troisième:
Fillet of flounder meuniere with butter, lemon supremes, parsley, and grilled asparagus paired with Patient Cottat Le Grand Caillou Pinot Noir, Loire Valley, France 2013
Quatrième:
Tournedos forestiere featuring local mushrooms, petite pois, butter-sautéed potatoes, lardons, and glace de viande paired with Domaine Robert Serol Cote Roannaise Les Originelles, Loire Valley, France 2014
Cinquième:
Brown-butter crepes with Nutella, fresh berry compote and zest of orange
The event cost is $75 per person (plus tax and gratuity) and will include four wines and five courses. Seating is limited; reservations required. Be sure to make yours by calling Jackson’s Steakhouse, (850) 469-9898.
