Angelena’s Supper Club: A Series of Food and Wine Events

Angelena’s is pleased to offer a series of Supper Clubs, offered every other month, each themed around Italian traditions. Each dinner will be held in the main dining room at 6:00 p.m. Reservations are required, to reserve your spot, please contact Brooke Parkhurst, brooke@angelenaspensacola.com or 917-573-1613.


At each Supper Club, Chef James Briscione will present a selection of welcoming aperitivos followed by a four-course dinner that will feature Italian favorites. In addition, wine pairings will be included as selected by Wine Director Brooke Parkhurst.


Thursday, February 25: An Evening with Ornellaia

Wine Director Brooke Parkhurst and Chef James Briscione, with the help of the Florida director of sales for Vintus wines, Brian Bergeron, will present a night of food and wine pairings as well as impart the love, knowledge, and history that comes from one of Italy’s premier wineries, Ornellaia. Located on the Tuscan coast, Ornellaia has been growing and producing Italy’s leading Bordeaux-style red wines for the past thirty years. The menu for the evening is as follows:



Doppio Ravioli: Braised short rib and truffled parmesan filling paired with Le Volte dell’Ornellaia, 2018



Pan Seared Chesapeake Bay Scallops: Celery root, king trumpet mushroom, bacon jus paired with Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia, 2018



Bistecca Fiorentina: Porcini-rubbed ribeye, oxtail ragu, parmesan and truffle aligoté paired with Ornellaia, 2017



Tartufo: Vanilla gelato, maraschino cherry, chocolate ganache

Thursday, April 29: Primavera: Italian Spring

Many regard la primavera as “l’inizio di splendore, per tutto, per tutti” (the beginning of splendor, for everything, for everyone). At Angelena’s this is no exception. Chef James will celebrate the wonderful flavors of the season through his favorite Spring dishes filled with the freshest the season has to offer. Event cost is $75 per person (plus tax and gratuity).

Thursday, June 17: Italy Comes to the American South

Have you ever wondered how some of your favorite Southern dishes would look and taste, if they were created in Italy? These are the questions that keep Chef James up at night. In this Supper Club you will sample your way through re-imagined dishes that gives Southern staples some serious Italian flair and hear from Chef James as he shares the stories behind how they were created. Event cost is $75 per person (plus tax and gratuity).


Thursday, August 26: La Dolce Vita: The Sweet Life

Join us as we celebrate Rome’s Golden Age of the 1960’s and director Federico Fellini’s classic, award-winning, black and white movie, “La Dolce Vita.” Translated to “the sweet life”, the comedy-drama follows a journalist over seven days and nights on his journey through the sweet life of Rome as he searches for love and happiness. Chef James and Brooke will present a Supper Club event to encompass the feel of the time.  All are encouraged to attend in true “La Dolce Vita” style with your best Golden Age dress. Event cost is $85 per person (plus tax and gratuity).


Thursday, October 28: An Evening with the Veneto

As we travel from Venice to Verona, Chef James Briscione and Wine Director Brooke Parkhurst will guide you along a culinary adventure through one of Italy’s premier wine regions. Joining us will be Certified Italian Wine Professional Michael Fix, from Winebow Fine Wines and Spirits. Winebow represents some of the most established, family-owned properties, as well as a new generation of winemakers and distillers who are dedicated to innovation and quality.Chef James’ dishes will pair perfected with the highlighted wines selected for the evening. Event cost is $125 per person (plus tax and gratuity).
